    Notes

    • 0:04From the NYPL homepage, click the link 'Databases'
    • 0:16Scroll down and click 'L' from the list of 'Databases by Title'
    • 0:57First, we will search for information about a work by its title by clicking the 'Title' search link
    • 1:18Notice the default tab, called Literary Criticism, Articles and Works Overviews
    • 1:26The 'Additional Resources' tab will provide useful links to websites with information about the work or author(s)
    • 1:35There is also a Literary-Historical timeline with facts and events about authors and their works
    • 1:45There is also a tab for biographical information about the authors as well
    • 1:55Click the HOME button to start a new search
    • 2:00Notice that the default search for this database is an author search. Just type an authors last name, or part of it to search for him/her
    • 3:11You are also able to perform an Advanced Search with this database to increase the precision of your search, giving you access to a number of specific search options.
