Notes
- Open your "Safari" browser on your MacBook.
- Go to "mozilla.com"
- Make sure the "Download" button is for the ENGLSIH version before clicking it!
- Click "continue" to install Firefox.
- Drag and drop the Firefox icon into the "Applications" folder. Then double click the Firefox icon to open Firefox!
- In FIrefox, go back to the mozilla.com page to install some cool add-ons!
- Enter "diigo" in the search box on the add-ons page. (Diigo is a GREAT research tool. More on how to use it later.)
- Install "Diigo" in your Firefox.
- Enter "pdf" in your search box and install the "PDF Download" add-on.
- Type "cool iris" in your search box and install the "Cooliris" add-on. (It IS cool.)
- Notice the "Recommended Add-ons" page for more free add-ons for your Firefox. Install whatever you want!
- Type "Answers" in your search box and add the "Answers" add-on. Instant pop-up definitions and links to articles about whatever word you click on while holding down the "Alt" key! Great for hard words or names in articles online!
- Restart Firefox to see your new add-ons!
- Hide any add-on toolbars by going to Firefox "View > Toolbars" and unchecking the ones you want to hide.
- Next task: Making folders on your 'Bookmarks Toolbar": Go to your email website.
- Right-click your email page and select "bookmark this page."
- Select "Bookmarks toolbar" in the drop-down menu, then click "Create new folder," and label it "email."
- Delete any unwanted folders from your Bookmarks Toolbar.
- How "Cool Iris" works: X-ray vision for links on a webpage!
